Dinner with the Dean - a new CDLS exclusive series!
The CDLS is proud to offer student leaders a new way in which to dialog with and learn from the talented leaders at Rider! "Dinner with the Dean" will give the Deans of our University the opportunity to share with a small group of students the leadership lessons they have learned in their lives and careers. It's a wonderful opportunity to interact with these high-level leaders in an informal, non-academic discussion about leadership.
We are pleased that Dr. Steven Lorenzet, Dean of the College of Business Administration, has agreed to host our first dinner! Dr. Lorenzet will focus his discussion on the value and importance of making and learning from mistakes. So often, we are afraid to take risks and fail at an endeavor - but while we may not always accomplish the goals we set for ourselves, there are valuable lessons to be learned from the mistakes we make and the endeavors that don't work out. Dr. Lorenzet will shed light on this by sharing lessons he's learned from mistakes made, and hopefully help you to feel a bit more comfortable taking some greater risks in the future!
Leadership Trip to Waste Management Recycling Plant
If you have ever wondered about where your trash and recyclables go and how they are processed once they have been picked up from your home, this is the perfect trip for you. The tour will educate you on topics such as the creation of waste, the company's environmental controls systems, and the daily operations within the organization's landfills.
Leadership and the Military
This event will bring together students leaders and Rider student veterans to learn about leadership from a military model and see how it relates to leadership in other organizations.
ODK Presidential Leadership Exchange
Join other student leaders at Rider to learn more about leadership from the professionals! This spirited discussion typically includes Rider Board of Trustee members in high level leadership positions. Past guests include Michael Kennedy '72 '75 (Former Partner, PFS National Practice Leader PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP), Thomas Marino '69 (co-CEO of Cohn Reznick, LLC), and Ms. Mika Ryan (President and CEO Mercer County Sports and Entertainment Commission)
Teachers Leadership Community Mock Interviews

Get practice and immediate feedback to better prepare for your professional interviews. A schedule of interview slots will be advertised later this semester, however, if you are interested, please e-mail cdls@rider.edu and we'll place you on a list to assure you receive the interview schedule once its published.
