Accreditation Information

The School of Education at Rider University was the first private university in New Jersey to be accredited by NCATE. The School has been NCATE accredited continuously since 1974. Periodic accreditation reviews and ongoing program evaluations assure that our philosophy and practices are current, we adhere to high standards, and we plan for future development. Program refinement occurs through self-study, strategic planning, and cooperative work with our various constituencies, which include public school personnel, colleagues in liberal arts and sciences, and colleagues in education programs in other institutions of higher education.

Rider’s graduate counseling services program in the School of Education holds the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accreditation, and its school psychology program holds the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) accreditation. The music programs hold National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) accreditation. The University’s many specialized accreditations for teacher education and advanced programs for teachers and leaders attest to the quality of its academic programs.  All are listed below.
