Earn your K-5 teaching certification through this innovative, mentored residency program.
This exciting, 21-graduate credit immersion program is designed for college graduates of all academic backgrounds and experiences who are interested in making a difference as teachers.
This program was developed with generous funding support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
TEACH First Class transforms traditional teacher preparation by eliminating the gap between theory and practice. You immediately begin your classroom experiences, supported by mentoring by Rider’s School of Education faculty. In this accelerated 9-month program, you will gain the teaching credentials and hands-on classroom experiences you need, while establishing the professional relationships and support network essential to success.
All your graduate classes, faculty mentoring and classroom experiences will take place at a local elementary school near Rider University’s Lawrenceville Campus.
Full immersion in an elementary school for nine months - with the option of continuing on for your Master of Arts in Teaching.
All graduate coursework is directly integrated onsite with your practical classroom experiences
Members of Rider’s faculty are regularly present to infuse relevant theory into your practical experiences with children
Rider University is now accepting applications for Fall 2014.
TEACH First Class participants are limited to 15 students for maximum support and personal attention.
Fall 2014 will feature immersive classroom experiences and onsite workshops three days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays); Spring 2015 will involve full-time student teaching.
Cost to participate is: $14,500.
