Math Skills Lab

The Math Skills Lab offers:
- Trained peer tutors working with students individually or in groups to develop stronger math concepts and strategies;
- Peer Tutoring Workshops for Finite Mathematics in a group setting;
- Individual content tutoring for other courses offered by the Liberal Arts Mathematics department;
- A list of topics and review materials in preparation for Algebra and Trigonometry Qualifying Exams

The Math Skills Lab offers the course MTH 100S (Math Skills Lab)
Students place into this level of Liberal Arts Mathematics based on their Math Placement Test and may use this course to satisfy the prerequisite for entry into Finite Mathematics. The course is directed by the Mathematics faculty in collaboration with the Education Enhancement Program. It is taught via individual tutoring, small group workshops, and computer assisted instruction. Students enrolled in this class do not receive credit towards graduation, but receive one basic supplemental unit upon successful completion of the course.
Computer instruction is provided via a web-based program. This program is available to all students enrolled in MTH 100S and is designed to improve understanding of materials covered in the course.

Monday through Friday
Fall semester--8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Spring Semester--9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Walk-In Tutoring is available for all of the following courses:
Math Skills Lab (MTH 100S)
Finite Mathematics (MTH 102)
Algebra & Trig (MTH 105)
Calculus I (MTH 210)
Walk-in Tutoring Hours are:
Tuesday and Thursday (open period) - 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday Evenings - 5 - 7 p.m.
