Rider University is committed to disseminating information as quickly and accurately as possible in an emergency or other serious situation via RiderAlert, the University's electronic notification system, voice mail, email, Web postings, and signage.

RiderAlert is used exclusively in an emergency, to relay weather related and other closings, and to provide timely warnings as a means of preventing crimes or other serious incidents. It provides the capability to alert the Rider community via phone, cell phone, email, and text messages.

Members of the Rider University community are encouraged to sign up for RiderAlert. To submit and/or edit your contact information, please visit www.rider.edu/rideralert. Once you have entered your information and determined that it is accurate, follow the prompts for submitting and saving your data. REMEMBER: RiderAlert is only as useful as the contact information you provide. It is important that you keep your contact information up-to-date, should a need for emergency contact be required.

Rider University firmly believes in the use of timely warning notices as a means of preventing crimes or other serious incidents, as well as to notify the University community of crimes committed on campus or in the surrounding area. Members of the Rider community are encouraged to immediately report crimes and other serious incidents to the Department of Public Safety.
