Westminster Chapel Choir Spring Concert Is April 8
The Westminster Chapel Choir will perform a concert on Saturday, April 8th at 8:00 p.m. at the Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J. The program, entitled “Rejoice,” will include works ranging from classics by Monteverdi, Handel, Elgar and Poulenc, to contemporary compositions of Moses Hogan and John Tavener, including a new work by Peter Wright, Westminster's associate dean.
Composed of the newest undergraduates at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, the Westminster Chapel Choir, conducted by Sun Min Lee, performs a varied repertoire. Founded in 1946, it has toured since 1960, performing in churches, schools, and concerts halls throughout America. It has performed with the Greater Trenton Symphony and the Queens Symphony. It has also sung for the tree-lighting ceremony in Rockefeller Center in New York. The ensemble can be seen on several instructional videos used throughout the world for the training of conductors and music educators: Group Vocal Technique: The Choral Ensemble Warm-Up; Ensemble Diction (Hinshaw Music); and Choral Ensemble Intonation (GIA Music). Its newest recording is An Evening of Readings & Carols.
Korean-born conductor Sun Min Lee is an assistant professor of choral conducting at Westminster. She earned a Bachelor of Church Music degree from the Presbyterian College and Theological Seminary in Korea and a Master of Music degree in choral conducting with distinction from Westminster Choir College.
