Westminster Conservatory to Present Peter Pan May 19 - 22

The Actors Company, the resident theater company at Westminster Conservatory, the community music school of Westminster Choir College of Rider University, will present Peter Pan: A New Musical on Thursday, May 19 through Saturday, May 21 at 8:00 p.m., with a last performance on Sunday, May 22 at 3:00 p.m.  All performances will be held in The Playhouse located on the Westminster campus in Princeton.

Under the direction of Nathan Brewer and the musical direction of Beth Ertz, the classic tale of Peter Pan and his friends will come to life in the world-premiere of this new musical production.  Peter Pan remains an enduring favorite for many reasons - perhaps most of all for the ability to turn back time.  The script was adapted from James M. Barrie’s book, Peter and Wendy and the production, entitled Peter Pan: A New Musical was composed by William W. Brewer.

Nathan Brewer is the founder and artistic director of The Westminster Conservatory Actors Company.  He teaches two courses in musical theater, and has directed productions of Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, Pippin, The Fantasticks, Sweeney Todd, Scrooge, Riders to the Sea, A Funny Things Happened on the Way to the Forum, Baby with the Bathwater, Hello Again, and faculty cabarets featuring Diana Crane, Charles Walker, Peter Wright, and Margaret Cusack.

Originally founded as a student theater group at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, The Actors Company became the resident theater company of the Westminster Conservatory in 2002.  Noted for its “passion and intensity” by The Princeton Packet, The Actors Company has produced more than a dozen productions at Westminster Choir College, Princeton University, and at venues in New York City and Philadelphia.  The company offers classes in improvisation, musical theater, Broadway dance, and acting for children and adults.

Tickets for these performances are $15 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and students.  To order, call the Westminster box office at 609-921-2663 between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Westminster Choir College is located on the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Walnut Lane in Princeton.
