Anwar Robinson, a member of the Class of 2001 at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, is one of the finalists on Fox television’s American Idol. 

A graduate of Montclair High School, where he studied with Westminster alumna Pamela Axton ’92, Anwar majored in music education and studied voice with Scott McCoy.  He was a member of the Westminster Jubilee Singers, and he is a featured soloist on Jubilee’s recording A Celebration of Spirituals, Hymns and Gospel Songs.  As a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir he sang with the New York Philharmonic, the New Jersey Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra.  Today he teaches 6^th, 7^th and  8^th grade chorus at Edison Middle School in West Orange, N.J.
