Westminster Choirs Will Be Heard in Two December Radio Broadcasts
The Westminster Symphonic Choir’s April 2004 performance of Beethoven’s Missa Solmenis, conducted by Joseph Flummerfelt, will be broadcast by WWFM radio Thursday, December 16. This Beethoven’s birthday broadcast can be heard in much of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania on the radio and throughout the world through the internet. The Westminster Symphonic Choir’s December performance of Handel’s Messiah with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Alan Gilbert will be broadcast nationally on Wednesday, December 22, through the WFMT Radio Network. Recorded at New York’s Riverside Church, the broadcast is part of the New York Philharmonic This Week series. Soloists include Westminster alumna Nancy Maultsby ’86, mezzo-soprano; with Celena Shafer, soprano; Kurt Streit, tenor; Jonathan Lemalu, bass-baritone.
