Rising Stars Recital - October 3

Westminster will present a performance by some of its finest students Sunday, October 3 at 3:00 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the Westminster campus in Princeton.  Entitled “Rising Stars,” the recital will also honor the individuals and foundations who provide student scholarships at Westminster.

The program will include singers, pianists and organists performing works by Bach, Liszt, Chopin, and Debussy, as well as art sings, opera arias and duets.

“We’re delighted to offer the community this opportunity to hear some of Westminster’s incredibly talented students perform,” says Westminster’s Dean and Director Robert Annis.  “Our graduates go on to careers as music leaders in schools, churches and concert halls throughout the world.  Many of our performance majors appear regularly in world’s leading opera houses and concert halls.  In the past 12 years, three Westminster alumni have been grand prize winners at the prestigious Metropolitan Opera Council’s National Auditions.  Our recital on October 3 will offer music lovers the opportunity to hear someone who might be the next Met winner in the early stages of a major career.”

Performers will be pianists Sean Richards, David Leifer, Kyle Ehrmann, and Anthony Rafaniello; singers Tory Browers, soprano, Gilberto Gomez, baritone, Sean Guerrier, baritone, Anne Leonardi, soprano, and Elisa Vilbergsdottir, soprano; and organists Soo Yeon Lee, HyeHyun Sung, and Andrew Yeargin.  Soprano Meghan Troxil will perform a work by student composer Blake Henson.

Admission to the performance is free. For more information call Westminster’s box office at 609-921-2663.
