WWFM's Sounds Choral Features Westminster's Legacy on December 9

WWFM radio’s popular Sounds Choral program will focus on Westminster Choir College Sunday, December 9 at 2 p.m.  Recorded earlier this fall, the one-hour show, entitled “The Westminster Legacy,” is hosted by Marjorie Herman and features a wide-ranging interview with Joe Miller, Westminster’s director of choral activities.

According to the National Endowment for the Arts, more Americans participate in choral singing than any other musical art form.  Using musical examples, Herman and Miller discuss the role that choral music has played in the nation’s cultural life and Westminster’s impact on choral music.

“The influence of our past leaders is part of our fabric, but we music seize this time to create a new vision based on the foundation that has been laid before us,” said Miller, reflecting on Westminster’s past and future.

Sounds Choral will be broadcast on Sunday, December 9 at 2 p.m.  Based at Mercer County Community College, WWFM, The Classical Network, is heard in central New Jersey at 89.1 FM and world-wide on the Web.  Learn more at www.wwfm.org.
