General Information
EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSINGS
Families should phone the emergency closing phone number at 609-219-2001, ext. 3 for updates.
FINANCIAL AID
Westminster Conservatory offers financial aid to qualifying families in the form of reduced tuition. Financial aid is determined on a sliding scale that considers family financial resources, the number of dependent children, the number of family members studying at the Conservatory, and the programs in which the student(s) are enrolled. Recipients must maintain reasonable progress and attendance and keep all payments current. Financial aid application forms are available at any Conservatory office.
SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT
A discount of 15 percent is offered to senior citizens (age 60 and older) in most offerings. Some programs, however, (such as Opera Outings) cannot be discounted.
RIDER UNIVERSITY DISCOUNT
A discount of 20 percent is offered to Rider University students, faculty, and staff (including family members). In addition, the $35 registration fee is waived. Some programs, however, (such as Opera Outings) cannot be discounted.
PARKING
Parking on campus is extremely limited. We recommend students find on-street parking.
Some parking is available in Lot D across the street from the Witherspoon School. Parking regulations are strictly enforced on the Westminster campus. All cars parking in Lot D are required to display a parking sticker (available at no charge in the Conservatory office) on their car. Failure to display this sticker could result in a fine.
After registration is confirmed, students should apply for a free, annual parking sticker. This gives students permission to park in Lot D while attending their lesson or another Conservatory event. No parking is allowed at other times. Parking in any other location on campus is illegal and subject to fines, booting and towing. This includes the fire lane in front of the Conservatory. Additional parking is available on public side streets.
STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARDS
Student ID cards are necessary for students wishing to use the Talbott Library Learning Center and to gain free admission to many campus concerts. Student ID cards are available in Conservatory offices.
TALBOTT LIBRARY LEARNING CENTER
Students enrolled in the Conservatory are extended borrowing privileges at Talbott Library Learning Center (609-921-7100, ext. 8237), the College library. An ID card must be presented to borrow books or music, and library rules and due dates must be observed. All overdue books must be returned and fines paid before a student is eligible to register for further Conservatory study.
CAMPUS BOOKSTORE
Music, textbooks or other materials may be purchased and ordered at Westminster Music and Books (609-921-1656), the campus bookstore located on the first floor of the Student Center (No. 7 on campus map). Students are required to carry an ID card when entering the bookstore. Bookstore hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., as well as select Saturdays.
