A Tradition of Musical Excellence

At Westminster Conservatory, you get more than just music lessons, classes, and performing ensembles. Students enrolled at the Conservatory receive a number of special benefits and opportunities.

• Full academic year of instruction
  Lessons, classes, and performance groups run from September through early June.
  
  
• Summer activities
  Summer music camps and summer private lessons are available.
  
  
• Individualized goal setting
  The instructor helps each student identify and accomplish his or her technical and musical goals.  Through this process, the student learns personal responsibility and gains a sense of achievement.
  
  
• Free or discounted admittance to many recitals and concerts.
  
  
• Discounts on designated classes and ensembles.
  
  
• Financial Aid
  Funds are available for qualifying students.

• Use of Westminster Choir College's Talbott Library.
  
  
• Lesson observation week (private lessons only)
  Parents sit in on a lesson in early November to meet the instructor and share goals for the students.
  
  
• Studio Class (private lessons only)
  Studio classes allow teachers to bring their students together for an informal performance opportunity.   The studio class in combination with the evaluation (see below) count as one lesson in he spring term.
  
  
• Written Evaluations (private lessons only)
  A student evaluation is held in May where the student's progress is evaluated by a panel of faculty members in a relaxed, supportive, and friendly atmosphere.  The evaluation in combination with the studio class (see above) count as one lesson in the spring term.
  
  
• Student recitals (private lessons only)
  The Conservatory encourages students to take advantage of the various performing opportunities offered.  Frequent performances help remove many of the anxieties associated with public performance.  Student recitals are held periodically throughout the year and are open to all students, with the permission of their teachers.

  The Conservatory provides accompanists for dress rehearsals, student recitals, studio classes, and scholarship auditions.
