Summer Camps

Take your music to the next level—at camp.  The Conservatory offers a variety of music camps for toddlers through high school and adults. We welcome students with or without previous musical experience.     

2008 Summer Music Camps

Beach Beats (ages 2-3)
Explore the beach and summer fun through music!

Musical Jamboree (ages 4-grade 1)
This is the perfect way to introduce your child to the world of music!

Rainbows, Rhythms, & Ringing (grades 2-3)
Experience Musical Jamboree at a more advanced level!
          
Try It Out Juniors (grades 1-3)
for Violin, Cello, and Keyboard
The peak age for beginning instrumental music study!

Try It Out Seniors (grades 4-6)
for Winds and Percussion
Students can sample a wind, brass, or percussion instrument they have never played before!

Keep It Going Summer Strings Camp (grades 4-6)
Pick up your string instrument and get energized for the upcoming school year!

Piano Camp (grades 4-7)
Perfect for budding pianists! Enjoy specialty classes and make friends too!

Jazz Piano Day Camp (grades 5-12)
Perfect way for pianists to develop their creativity and natural instinct to play by ear!

Middle School Summer Flute Camp (grades 6-8)
Gain performing experience, expand your repertoire, and make new friends!

Middle School Guitar Camp (grades 7-8)
Improve your playing, learn new skills, and develop practice strategies necessary for successful performance!

Piano Chamber Music Camp (grades 7-12)
For pianists, wind, and string players who love playing chamber music!

Teen Chamber Ensemble (grades 7-12)
Intermediate wind, string, and brass students experience playing with their peers in large and small chamber groups!

Chamber Music Camp for Adults
Let us help you form the chamber ensembles–you just play and enjoy the camaraderie!

Broadway Babies (grades 1-2)
Young singers, actors, and dancers will shine singing favorite Broadway show tunes!

Sing Your Heart Out! (grades 3-5)                                                                                                  NEW THIS YEAR!
New and experienced students will shine in this ensemble as they learn some of Broadway’s greatest showstoppers!

Musical-in-a-Week (grades 3-6)                                                                                                     NEW THIS YEAR!
Students will learn music, blocking, choreography, costume & artistic design, and perform an original O Henry musical!

Musical-in-a-Snap (grades 7-12)
From casting to the final curtain call, this company will learn and perform a musical theatre production in only 10 days!

Night Owls (grades 8-12)                                                                                                                NEW THIS YEAR!
Join us in this evening camp as we use the script of our own lives to create theater on the streets of Princeton!

Youth Opera Workshop (ages 8-18)
Take part in an exciting theatrical experience as we present a fully-staged production of a new comic opera for young people, Pandora's Box!

We also offer a flexible eight-week session of private instruction in many instruments, depending on availability of faculty.  Students often enroll in summer lessons to try out a new instrument or to get extra coaching and practice.  The 2008 summer session runs from June 23 - August 15.  Please check back this Spring for more information.
