YogaVoice is an exploration of the eight-fold path of classical Hatha yoga (as set forth in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali) and the application of these principles to the lives and work of classical singers and singing actors. This course will cover the yogic principles of balance, steadiness, and ease in the physical body and encourage students to use this awareness to find their authentic voice in singing. Participants will practice asana and pranayama and will have the opportunity to sing in the afternoon session. Recommended for anyone interested in the body/mind connection and how it relates to the performing arts (singers, conductors, pianists, pedagogues). Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.
