- What graduate programs are available at Rider?
Rider's Lawrenceville campus offers graduate programs in the areas of business and education. Please visit our Graduate Business or Graduate Education, Leadership and Counseling web sites for information about our programs. Westminster Choir College of Rider University also offers Graduate Music degrees at the Princeton campus.
Applications and Admissions

Graduate applications must be submitted by the appropriate deadline to ensure ample time for processing and availability in the program. Students who will need to change their immigration status to study (for example: F-2 and B-1/B-2 visa holders) should apply AT LEAST 6 months before the start of the term. - I have a three-year Bachelor, may I apply for graduate study at Rider?
Rider University requires the equivalent of a four-year Bachelor degree to begin Graduate Study. Students with three-year degrees may take an additional year of undergraduate coursework through Rider's College of Continuing Studies before applying for graduate study. F-1 student visas are available for full-time students. - Does Rider require work experience for admission to the MBA and MAcc programs?
No. Work experience is not required. Students may obtain work experience by completing an internship while a student at Rider. - Do I need a credential evaluation?
Rider will make every attempt to evaluate your transfer credits in-house, when possible. If you are planning to have Rider evaluate your credentials, please apply as early as possible.
In some circumstances, Rider may request that your credentials be evaluated outside the university. In this case, we recommend that you obtain a course-by-course evaluation performed by World Education Services, a professional credential evaluation agency. The WES evaluation converts educational credentials from any country in the world into their U.S. equivalents. It describes each certificate, diploma or degree that you have earned and states its academic equivalency in the United States.

Rider requires that all documents submitted must be in English. If your documents have been translated, please also submit the original foreign language documents. - Is the TOEFL required?
Rider University requires that non-native English speakers submit evidence of English language proficiency in the form of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Students who have attended a U.S. college or University in which English is the medium of instruction may have this requirement waived. For more information, contact the admissions office.
Minimum scores:
550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 iBT. 6.5 IELTS.
Costs and Financial Aid
- Are graduate assistantships available?
Rider offers a limited number of graduate assistantships. To apply for an assistanship, you must already be admitted to study at the university. Graduate assistantships do not cover the full cost of study. Most assistanships cover the cost of 6 credits (2 courses) per semester; international students must enroll in at least 9 credits (3 classes) per semester to maintain full-time student status. Assistantship funding is not considered towards the university's proof of funding requirements. - Are scholarships available for graduate study?
No, though a limited number of graduate assistantships covering partial tuition are available.
