Housing for International Students

On-Campus Housing

Living in the residence halls has many benefits for international students.  The residence halls are conveniently located near all facilities, classrooms, offices, and practice rooms (at Westminster).  All first-year international students are required to live in the residence halls.  On the Lawrenceville campus, international students can choose to live in the International Community Residence Hall, where international students live with domestic students in a unique learning and living community. Here they can share experiences across cultures, improve their foreign language skills, and participate in and organize events that highlight their cultures.

International students who are new to the United States are usually very concerned about safety.  The residence halls at Rider are protected by Campus Security.  Each residence hall also has a Resident Assistant and Resident Director on duty to help students with any problems concerning living situations or roommates.  You will also improve your English and make friends more quickly by living with other college students.

To live in the residence halls, you must submit a Housing Application and a non-refundable deposit.  Housing in residence halls is assigned on a “first come-first served” basis.  You must also sign a Housing Contract.  This is a very important agreement and cannot be broken.  Read the Housing Contract very carefully before you sign it.

International Community Residence Hall

Rider University offers international students who live on the Lawrenceville campus the opportunity to apply for housing in the International Community Residence Hall, Gee Hall. International students will share a room with a domestic student, and they will interact with other international and American students in a dynamic living environment that includes social events.

Please see the Student Handbook for more detailed information about on-campus housing and residence life.  If you have questions or concerns about on-campus housing, contact:
