Why did you choose to attend Rider University?

Rebecca and Elizabeth both chose Rider for its small size and athletic opportunities.

What do you like most about Rider?

Elizabeth:  I mostly enjoy the small and personal class sizes.  I love the fact that I can get to know my professors and know that I can always find them during their office hours for additional help.  The courses are challenging, but rewarding.  I also enjoy the variety of friends I have made on campus.  There are always places to go and people to hang out with.  I rarely go home and always have something to do.  It’s nearly impossible to get bored on campus.

Rebecca:  I enjoy how my teachers challenge me.  They encourage me to think about things I never thought I could do.  I like that the campus is small and I couldn’t imaging going to a larger school.  I love seeing all of the familiar faces every day.

What was/is your favorite course?

Elizabeth:  Band
Rebecca:  Social and Legal – it makes you thing outside of the box.  It’s very interesting!

What professor at Rider has influenced you the most?

Elizabeth:  Dr. Rife has influenced me the most here at Rider.  He has been my band director since sophomore year.  Traditionally, bands don’t have violins, but Dr. Rife accommodates the few fiddle players by playing the oboe part.  Dr. Rife has more energy, humor, and excitement than any professor I have ever seen.  Music has been my passion since I was a little girl and Dr. Rife keeps on encouraging it.

Rebecca:  I don’t know if I have any professors here at Rider that have influenced me quite as much as my Track and Field coach, Rob Pasquariello.  Being at practice day in and day out, no one has been there like him.  He’s helped me through some pretty tough times as a freshman.  His coaching on the field has enabled me to perform better than I ever imagined.  He is always there if anyone needs him and his dedication to the team is unbelievable.  I hope that I can continue to learn from him both on and off the track and keep my performances up in the future.

What has been your most memorable learning experience at Rider?

Elizabeth:  I would have to say my best learning experiences has been getting involved in the Accounting program.  Between classes, meetings, and interviews this semester, I have learned more about my field than ever.  I am very blessed.

Rebecca:  The best learning experience had to be when I was a Resident Advisor last year.  It was pretty tough to do that while playing on the team and keeping my grades up.  I definitely learned where my priorities were.  I got the opportunity to meet so many new freshmen in my building and worked with an awesome staff.  The help and support of so many great people helped me be successful.

What are your plans after Rider?

Elizabeth:  My ultimate career goal is to get involved in the FBI doing accounting work.  I would love to do forensic accounting.

Rebecca:  When I graduate from Rider, I hope to be able to start graduate school and complete my MBA or MAcc at Rider and go back to Pennsylvania to get my CPA.
