Position Summary
The Graduate Assistant for Auxiliary Services reports to the Assistant Director of Event Operations and is responsible for the daily managing of the Information Desk and Art Gallery staff in the Bart Luedeke Center, including hiring, training, and scheduling. In addition, this position helps with various events on campus when needed. The position includes tuition payment for two graduate courses per semester, housing, a 40-block meal plan per semester, and a $9.30 per hour stipend. This Graduate Assistant position requires 20 hours of work per week and may require a variety of working schedules. This position will be available to start in Summer 2008.
Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for hiring the appropriate number of managers and workers for the Information Desk and Art Gallery in the Bart Luedeke Center.
- Responsible for planning and conducting summer and fall training sessions for the Bart Luedeke Center staff as needed.
- Responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Event Operations with the supervision of the Bart Luedeke Center staff.
- Responsible for ensuring that someone is scheduled at all times at the Information Desk during the Bart Luedeke Center's hours of operation.
- Responsible for ensuring that someone is scheduled at all times at the Art Gallery during the Art Gallery's hours of operation.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Bart Luedeke Center staff's time sheets are filled out correctly and signed on time.
- Responsible for reviewing the Information Desk and Art Gallery logbooks and, if necessary, addressing any situations.
- Responsible for conducting staff meetings for the Bart Luedeke Center staff on a regular basis.
- Responsible for mediating any conflicts that may arise among the Bart Luedeke Center staff members.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Information Desk and Art Gallery has all the appropriate supplies needed.
- Responsible for maintaining an inventory of all Bart Luedeke Center equipment.
- Responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Event Operations in the operation and management of the Bart Luedeke Center.
- Responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Event Operations with planning, setup, and operation of campus events.
- Responsible for serving as the Liaison between Student Affairs and Auxiliary Services.
- Responsible for attending and participating in all departmental meetings.
- Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Event Operations.
