Eric Haltmeier

Acting Instructor

Eric Haltmeier is an adjunct faculty member in Music Education at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and has played the saxophone for over 20 years. He was a 1995 graduate of West Virginia University in music education where he studied saxophone and improvisation with David Hastings, Curtis Johnson, and Paul Scea. Other teachers include John Bachalis and improvisation with Ellery Eskelin.

Mr. Haltmeier has been an active performer for many years. As a classical musician he has performed in various chamber ensembles. He commissioned and premiered Kevin Beavers' "Shadowplays" for sax, piano, and three percussionists at the 1994 North American Saxophone Alliance International Conference. As a jazz musician, he has performed as leader or sideman with various groups at clubs and festivals around the Eastern US.  As a rock musician Eric has performed with Temptations and NJ's acid/jazz/funk band—East Side Vibe.

In addition to his teaching duties at Westminster Mr. Haltmeier in his ninth year teaching high school music at Lawrence High School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
