Charles Walker
Adjunct Instructor
Charles Walker, tenor, has been praised for his
characterizations as well as his singing. He has sung with opera companies and
orchestras in Europe, the United States and South America. Audiences at La Scala, the Kennedy Center and the Vienna State Opera heard Mr. Walker
in productions of Leonard Bernstein's last opera A Quiet Place in a role created for him by the composer
and recorded on Deutsche
Grammophon. Charles has also
sung with opera companies and orchestras across the U.S. and has appeared many times as soloist at New York’s Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
Mr. Walker appeared
on Broadway in the hit drama, Strider. Other theater credits
include productions at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, the Chelsea Theatre Center in NYC, the Wolf Trap Barns theaters, as
well as regular appearances with the internationally acclaimed and hilarious La Gran Scena Opera Company, where Mr. Walker has created zany characters of
every gender and generation.
Charles Walker is
on the Voice and Music Theater faculties of the Westminster Choir College of
Rider University. He has given "Acting for
Singers" master classes at the Manhattan School of Music, Akron University and the Theater an der Wien Hochschule für
Musik.
