Last season the Rider volleyball team did not record a win until the ninth match of the season. This year, it took Rider just two matches to record a victory, defeating Delaware State at the US Airways Classic. The Broncs were led by senior Evette Hoeffner (Fairlawn/Fairlawn), who was named to the All-Tournament team. Hoeffner led the entire nation in digs last season, and was named to the all-tournament team in four of the five tournaments Rider played last year. The Broncs began the season with a loss to the host team, with the Colonials defeating Rider 30-17, 24-30, 33-31, 30-14. Against Robert Morris, Hoeffner compiled 10 kills and 28 digs. Against Delaware State, Rider won 30-19, 30-16 and 30-18, led by freshmen Melissa Kons (Waukesha, WI/Waukesha West) and Jaclyn Levi (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan), who combined for 21 kills and 13 digs. Senior Melissa Cardwell (Sea Isle City/Ocean City High) placed 15th in the MAAC Championships, and finished second among Bronc runners in all seven meets last fall. The men will be led by senior Dave Dejong (Medford/Shawnee), who placed 13th overall at the MAAC Championships last year, and was a member of the MAAC All-Academic teams for both cross country and track & field.

Golf

The Broncs will be led by senior Jason Gold (Mt. Holly/Holy Cross) and sophomore Robert Whartenby (Lawrenceville/Lawrence).
