Why did you choose Rider? There were two aspects about Rider that drew me to it. The first was that I would be able to play tennis for a Division 1 tennis team. The second aspect was that Rider places education majors into an area classroom by your sophomore year. These two elements have been great experiences for me at Rider.
What do you like about Rider? The thing I love most about Rider is the friendships that I have made. My friends, professors and my coach have always been there for me. They give me that extra push to get me through a difficult task, whether it is in life, school or on the tennis court.
What is your favorite class, and why? I don’t have a favorite class; however I would have to say that I loved the junior level education classes because I had the opportunity to get hands on experience in the areas elementary schools. I am very excited about my upcoming student teaching experience.
What person at Rider has had the most impact on you, and why? Dr. David Oliver has had the most impact on me during my college career. I know that he will continue his involvement because he truly cares about his students. He has helped me in all areas of my life, such as school, tennis, and my relationships. Dr. Oliver is not only an advisor, he is a friend. However, I do have one regret; that I was never able to have him as a professor. I am very appreciative for the time and effort that Dr. Oliver has given me over the years.
What are your career plans following graduation? I plan to get a job teaching at an elementary school in the Rider area. I am hoping to get second grade, however I will take whatever is being offered.
