- Dr. Patrick Chmel, chairperson of the fine arts department, had his production review of "Tropicana" accepted into the Theatre Journal, a publication of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education. "Tropicana" was produced by the English experimental group Shunt and was produced by the Royal National Theatre in January.
- Dr. Ralph Gallay, associate professor of marketing, has published his article, "Mortgage Decision ... Lower Payment or Faster Payoff?", in The Journal of American Academy of Business, Cambridge, Vol.7, No. 1, September, 2005.
- Dr. Laura Hyatt, assistant professor of biology, presented a paper titled "What causes population size variation of invaders? Resources and demography of Alliaria petiolata" at the 90th annual meeting of the Ecological Society of America and the IX International Congress of Ecology in Montréal, Quebec, Canada on August 9. Her student coauthors, Rebecca Rodriguez and Rajmeet Mann, graduated from Rider in May.
- Dr. Ilhan Meric, professor of finance, has an article, titled "Time-varying Correlation of the Emerging Markets with the U.S. Stock Market," published by the St. John's University Peter J. Tobin College of Business in Volume 9, No: 3, of the Journal of Emerging Markets. Dr. Gulser Meric of Rowan University is the co-author of the article.
- Dr. Mitchell Ratner, associate professor of finance, and Dr. Ilhan Meric, professor of finance, have an article published in the spring-2005 issue of the International Journal of Finance co-authored with Dr. Gulser Meric, professor of finance at Rowan University. The article is titled "The Co-Movements of the World's Sector Index Returns."
- Dr. Cynthia Newman, assistant professor of marketing, presented a working paper entitled, “Lifestyles of Global Youth: A China – US Comparative Study,” at the International Conference on Marketing and Development in Thessaloniki, Greece on June 9. It was also published in the conference proceedings.
- Dr. Stefan C. Dombrowski, assistant professor of graduate education (Counseling Services and School Psychology Program), Susan G. Timmer, Dawn Blacker, and Anthony J. Urquiza, faculty from the department of pediatrics at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, published the paper, "A positive behavioral intervention model for toddlers: Parent-Child Attunement Therapy (PCAT) in Child Abuse Review, 14, 132-151. Dr. Dombrowski, Dr. Roy P. Martin from the University of Georgia and Dr. Matti Huttunen, from the University of Helsinki and the Finnish Institute of National Health, published the paper "Gestational smoking imperils the long term mental and physical health of offspring in March 2005 issue of Birth Defects Research Part (A): Clinical and Molecular Teratology, 73, 170-176. Dr. Dombrowski, Dr. Martin, Dr. Joseph Wisenbaker, Dr. Cynthia Mullis and Dr. Huttenen, published the paper, "Smoking during pregnancy: Association with childhood temperament, behavior, and academic performance" in the Journal of Pediatric Psychology online in July. Hard copy publication is anticipated mid-2006.
- Dr. Cynthia Lucia, assistant professor of English, had her book published, Framing Female Lawyers: Women on Trial in Film, published by the University of Texas Press in June.
- Dr. Dave Rebovich, chairperson of the department of political science and managing director of the Rider Institute of New Jersey Politics, served as moderator of the workshop, “The Future of State Government,” at the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and the American Society for Public Administrations’ (ASPA) annual joint symposium at the Trenton Marriott at Lafayette Yard on April 29. This year’s symposium theme was “Improving Government: Challenges of 2005.”
