Academic Affairs

The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of the University supervises and coordinates the academic and student support activities of the University and serves as the principal executive officer reporting to the President.

The Academic Affairs Division includes the College of Business Administration, the College of Liberal Arts, Education, and Sciences, the College of Continuing Studies, and the Westminster Choir College, as well as the University Libraries, and the Office of Information Technology. The Student Affairs Division, under the direct supervision of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, also reports to the Provost.

To encourage students to learn within and beyond the walls of our classrooms, the Provost's Office promotes linkages among academic programs, among academic and student support activities, and between the University and the external community. Maintaining and improving program quality and encouraging innovation and renewal are high priorities. Major projects currently under way include:

  • Promoting joint projects between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, such as service learning, career initiatives, and community-based research
  • Developing and implementing a plan for student learning outcomes assessment
  • Expanding faculty development programming and instructional technology under the Teaching and Learning Center
