WAC
To: All full- and part-time faculty of both Lawrenceville and Princeton Campuses
By: Anne Salvatore, Director, Writing Across the Curriculum
Faculty Development Opportunity : You are invited to join WAC group nineteen for a series of six seminars on the Lawrenceville campus during spring 2006.
Faculty come together to read about, discuss, debate, and apply ideas on including writing and critical thinking activities in our courses. We explore principles and practice of good assignment design; we generate activities to support assignments, and we devise strategies that help us respond to student papers. New teaching ideas, scholarship, and friendships often emerge from WAC activities. You'll like WAC if you are:
- eager for lively collegial discussion and debate about teaching
- "new" at Rider and would like to meet colleagues across the disciplines
- experienced at Rider and looking for fresh teaching ideas
- interested in Lawrenceville/Princeton campus interchange
Besides the intellectual and emotional benefits, WAC will provide a stipend for each participant. The group will meet every other week for 6 weeks for about 2 hours during the Spring of 2006. Specific meeting times will be selected to fit the schedules of participants.
Pease contact Ann Salvatore to share in an energizing and satisfying faculty development experience, or to nominate a colleague: 609-895-5569 or salvatore@rider.edu.
