OIT Announcement - Scheduled Telephone and Voicemail Outage
Date: Saturday, August 8, 2009 and Sunday, August 9, 2009
Time: 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday
Services Affected: Telephone and Voicemail
Users Affected: Lawrenceville Campus Only
Please be advised that all telephone services, including voicemail, will be unavailable on the Lawrenceville campus between the hours of 6 a.m. Saturday, August 8, and 6 a.m., Sunday, August 9, while we perform required upgrades to the system.
These upgrades, once fully installed, will set the stage for a number of service enhancements such as improved call management during high call volume periods and the ability to listen to voicemail via your e-mail or the Web.
During the outage, all incoming calls will be automatically forwarded to Public Safety, who will have extra personnel on hand to handle the volume. Designated Emergency Phones (pay phones, previously identified fax lines, etc.) and Public Safety emergency and non-emergency numbers will remain operational.
In the event voice services remain unavailable beyond the outage period, users are encouraged to check the University homepage, Technology Helpdesk Web page, or e-mail helpdesk@rider.edu.
