Healy, Wadley Join Annual Giving Team

University Advancement recently welcomed two new team members whose energy and expertise is anticipated to bolster the Annual Fund. Ilyndove Healy is the new director of Annual Giving, and Katharine Wadley ’02 is the new associate director of Annual Giving.

Healy and Wadley are responsible for guiding and enhancing the Annual Fund, and promoting the Annual Fund participation among Rider’s alumni and friends, including those affiliated with Westminster Choir College.

“I am delighted to welcome Ilyndove and Kate to Rider’s Annual Giving staff. We are pleased that in this challenging year for the economy that our Annual Giving office has been fully staffed,” said Ed Gwazda, assistant vice president of Development.

Before attending Syracuse University, Healy served two years in the United States Army, stationed in Mons, Belgium. She credits her time in the military with building her sense of self and developing discipline — two traits that continue to contribute to her success in life. That experience taught her how to focus and develop organizational and planning skills, which she still uses today.

Healy also served as assistant director of Classes and Reunions at Wellesley College. Most recently, she served as the director of Annual Giving at The Hun School of Princeton where she surpassed the half-million dollar mark in annual giving for the first time in Hun’s history.

“I am extremely pleased to work in a position where we have two immediate, important impacts on the University,” Healy said. “First, resources we raise provide additional support for the University’s operating budget; second, Annual Giving helps the University’s ability to make an excellent Rider education accessible to all deserving students. I can’t think of a better way to contribute to this great institution.”

Wadley received her B.A. in Music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. Through Westminster’s internship program, she began her career as an intern at The American Boychoir School in Princeton, and quickly moved up the ranks, from intern to Development Associate to her last position as Director of Annual Fund and Alumni Relations.

“As an alumna, I’m happy and proud to have the opportunity to further my alma mater’s mission and support the next generation of students,” Wadley said. “I look forward to working with both the Lawrenceville and Westminster campuses.”

Healy and Wadley joined Mary Mewherter, assistant director of Annual Giving and Lorraine Nawrocik, administrative specialist, on the Annual Giving staff.

“With Ilyndove’s leadership strengths from her years at The Hun School, Wellesley and the Armed Forces, and Kate’s affinity for Westminster Choir College as an alumna, the Annual Giving team is now fully equipped to address the challenges of the weak economy and to complete a successful 2008-09 Annual Fund campaign,” Gwazda said.
