Finance Division Welcomes Three New Hires
The Finance Division of Rider University is welcoming three new employees to leadership roles in the division during the month of September.
“I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Stoto as the associate vice president for Human Resources and Affirmative Action, effective September 9, 2008,” said Julie Karns, vice president for Finance. “Rob has more than 20 years of leadership experience in Human Resources, including the past 10 as director of Human Resources and Labor Relations at the County College of Morris in Randolph, N.J. In that capacity, he managed all human resources functions, including serving as the institution’s Affirmative Action Officer and ADA Compliance Officer.”
Stoto has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Seton Hall University and a Master of Science in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from Rutgers University. He and his family live in Hillsborough, N.J.
Melissa Ross has been hired as Rider’s sustainability coordination manager, a role that will have her researching and implementing sustainable initiatives for both the Lawrenceville and Princeton campuses with the assistance of the Energy and Sustainability Steering Committee, student employees known as Eco-Reps, and the Facilities and Auxiliary Services departments.
Ross is also planning a number of “green-themed” events on both campuses and will be working with various departments to reduce Rider’s carbon footprint. Ross, who was previously the facilities coordinator at George School in Newtown, Pa., earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Widener University in Chester, Pa.
Jim Zaleski will begin work on September 29 as Rider’s director of Engineering and Facilities Management. In that role, Zaleski will oversee the operations of the Facilities Management department and the mechanical systems on campus, and he will also be working closely with Phil Voorhees on construction and renovation.
Zaleski, a resident of Newtown Square, Pa., comes to Rider from The Daniel J. Keating Company of Philadelphia, where he was a senior projects manager. He had previously been at Villanova University, where he served as the director of Engineering as well as director of Engineering Systems. Zaleski earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Villanova.
In addition to the three new hires, Karns announced that Mona Marder has been named Director of Compensation and Benefits. “This change makes Mona’s title reflective of the strong leadership she has provided in these key Human Resources functions,” Karns explained.
“Each of these staff members brings strong experience and enthusiasm to their roles at Rider, and I am confident they will help contribute to Rider’s growth and renewal,” Karns said. “Please join us in welcoming these new colleagues to Rider and the Finance Division team.”
