DEADLINE EXTENDED: Submit your nominations for the 2008 Frank N. Elliott Award
NOMINATION DEADLINE EXTENDED!
The Frank N. Elliott Award for Distinguished Service is presented at the opening Convocation each fall to one member of the faculty (including Athletics and Library staff), administration, and support staff (Clerical, Secretarial, Public Safety, or Facilities). The award was created by the Board of Trustees at the time of Dr. Elliott’s retirement as President in 1990 to recognize individuals who have provided extraordinary service to Rider.
At the time the Award was established, the Board did not specify selection criteria. This decision was made to permit consideration of a wide array of service contributions. Each of the prior recipients has demonstrated on-going and significant service to the institution in ways that exceed even the high levels of contribution made by many. The nature of the service has been varied but in all cases, meaningful to the University. There is no limit to the number of times an individual may receive this award. In addition, the Board designated that the President would make the final selections using any process of consultation that he or she wished. Each year, recipients of the past four years make up an advisory committee that makes recommendations to the President.
Only Rider faculty and staff may submit a nomination. You may nominate one or more members of the faculty, administration and/or support staff who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service over an extended time. Any nomination should include the name of the individual and a brief statement describing the specific forms of service you consider worthy of this award. A separate form should be used for each nomination.
If you have nominated individuals in the past, you will need to resubmit those nominations this year as the committee only considers those nominations made in any one year.
Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 14, 2008.
