Let the Student Success Center Help You Prepare for Finals

The countdown is on!

With finals only three weeks away, the Student Success Center is here to assist students in preparing for their exams. Tutoring Services, Supplemental Instruction, and the Writing Lab provide valuable academic support during these strenuous weeks.

Tutoring Services offers drop-in sessions and scheduled individual or group appointments for a wide variety of courses. Distributed practice serves a student better than cramming, so begin attending the weekly sessions now to insure you are prepared for your exams.

Supplemental Instruction, a form of tutoring in which the tutor takes the course with the students, offers weekly review sessions. Students have the opportunity to clarify notes from the lecture, break down difficult concepts and passages from the text, and learn study strategies with the assistance of the tutor.

At the Writing Lab, students may schedule with Professional Tutors and Student Writing Tutors for individual appointments for assistance with papers and research projects. Additionally, students needing help on personal statements for applications for summer internships or graduate applications may schedule appointments. Professional Tutors also provide strategies for test preparation and test taking to prepare for final exams.

Using TutorTrac, students may search the schedule for Tutoring Services and Supplemental Instruction session times and dates.
