Founder’s Day to Honor 62 Scholars

The Founder’s Day awards ceremony, a tradition that honors Rider’s top students as Andrew J. Rider Scholars, will begin at 11 a.m. in the BLC Theater.

The award, which is named for the founder and first president of the institution, honors the top one percent of sophomores, juniors and seniors in each of Rider's four academic colleges — the College of Business Administration, College of Liberal Arts, Education, & Sciences, the College of Continuing Studies and Westminster College of the Arts.

During the program, Dr. Andrew Markoe, Professor of Mathematics, will receive the Dominick A. Iorio Award for Faculty Research. Dr. E. Todd Weber, Associate Professor in the Department of Biology, will give the faculty address. Alex D'Amico, a senior entrepreneurial studies major, will give the student address. D'Amico has the honor of receiving an Andrew J. Rider Scholar award for the second time. President Mordechai Rozanski will award certificates to the students during the ceremony.
