Lawrenceville Campus to Celebrate Family Weekend, Founder’s Day 2008

The Lawrenceville campus Family Weekend takes place from Friday, November 7 to Sunday, November 9, 2008.  On Friday, activities will include a lecture by Pulitzer Prize winner Willard Randall, Bronc Bingo, and the crowning of the new Cranberry King and Queen.  Then, on Saturday, enjoy campus hayrides, musical entertainment, athletic events, and the Family Weekend Luncheon.  A special highlight of Rider’s Family Day on Saturday, November 8, is the Founder’s Day awards ceremony, a tradition that honors Rider’s top students as Andrew J. Rider Scholars.

Friday, November 7, 2008

Rider Chapel Choir Open Rehearsal
Gill Chapel, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Experience the immense talent of the Rider Chapel Choir as they welcome families and friends to an open rehearsal.

Family Weekend Registration

Cranberry King and Queen Finale
Bart Luedeke Center Theater, 5 p.m
The exciting conclusion to the month-long race for Rider’s Cranberry King and Queen!  The event is capped off with the coronation of the new King and Queen.

Lecture by Professor Willard Randall, Champlain College
Bart Luedeke Center Theater, 8 p.m.
Enjoy this informative lecture by Pulitzer Prize nominated Revolutionary War Historian Professor Randall.  Presented by the Communication Department, the History Department, and the Office of Campus Life.

SEC Film – Mamma Mia!
Sweigart Auditorium, 9 p.m.

Hal Sparks- Comedian
Bart Luedeke Center Theater, 10 p.m. – midnight
SEC presents acclaimed comedian Hal Sparks, best known for his appearances on VH1's "I Love the 90's/80's/70's" series, E!’s “Talk Soup” and Showtime's “Queer as Folk”.  Not suitable for the Little Broncs.

Bronc Bingo – Family Edition
Daly’s Dining Hall, 10 p.m. – midnight
A Rider phenomenon for the past five years!  Over 300 students each month gather to take part in fun-filled games of bingo. For Family Weekend a special version of the game has been designed.  Families and students can play to win prizes and enjoy this exciting weekend activity.
