Rider’s Fine Arts Honor Society Chapter Presents "Working the Musical"

Step inside the shoes of average working-class Americans and hear their stories this week at Rider University’s Lawrenceville campus. Come see Alpha Psi Omega’s rendition of the musical Working, which runs Thursday, May 1, through Saturday, May 3.

The musical, based on the book Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do by Studs Terkel, focuses on the hopes, dreams, joys and concerns of the working class.

“It’s a pretty accurate depiction of American society,” said Musical Director Michael Hollinshead, a junior Fine Arts Theater major. “The musical will give you a different outlook on people with different jobs.”

Showtimes are 8 to 10:30 p.m. each night in the Yvonne Theater in the Fine Arts Center Room 104. Tickets for the student-run show, which features more than 20 students, costs $5 and will be sold at the door.

“I think the musical will be very relevant to the student community because it’s what they will be encountering in the future,” Hollinshead said.
