Rider Recycles! Poster Contest - Last Call for Submissions - The Deadline of Monday April 7, 2008 is Only a Few Days Away!

All students are invited to showcase their artistic talent and commitment to the environment by participating in the University’s 1st Rider Recycles! Poster Contest sponsored by the Energy and Sustainability Steering Committee (ESSC).

The contest will help achieve our goal of increasing awareness about recycling on campus. The three winners will be chosen by a spectrum of students, faculty and staff by award of points for the highest top three and awarded a monetary prize.

Along with a $500 1st place prize, the winner will possibly have their artwork transferred onto a poster to be displayed across both the Princeton and Lawrenceville campuses.  2nd place prize is $250.00 and 3rd place is $100.00.

Please read the poster contest rules carefully before submitting artwork.

Submission Dealine is April 7, 2008

Eligibility
All Rider University students are eligible to participate. Students should submit their own original artwork.  Copyrighted characters or copyrighted clipart will not be accepted. Themes, such as reduce reuse recycle, Rider Recycles! Or recycled products are suggested ideas that can be incorporated into the work.

Materials
Students may use a variety of media, such as watercolor, pen and ink, crayon, markers, etc.  Charcoals and pastels are not recommended for use as there is no guarantee that the artwork can transfer onto a poster cleanly. Brighter colors, however, reproduce better for the poster; light pencil marks will not show up. Keep in mind submitted artwork will likely be on public display, and should be easy to see or read.

Size & Layout
Minimum 8 ½” by 11”
Maximum 18” by 24”
Landscape layout only!

Judging Procedure
There will be judges from the Energy and Sustainability Steering Committee, Student Government Associations, Residence Housing Association, faculty and staff who will choose the top three, by rating the submissions. Participants with the top three highest points accumulated will be chosen as winners for 1st, 2d, and 3rd place accordingly. Judging will take place the week of April 8-11, 2008, with the winners announced April 15, 2008.
