Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use Rider’s on-line course selection system (MyInfo)?
On-line course selection is available for all Rider University except first-time freshmen. First-time freshmen are not eligible to course select on-line for their second term. However, second-semester freshmen may use MyInfo to course select for the following term.
Note that students who have an outstanding balance and/or matriculated students who have not submitted the appropriate immunization records will not be able to course select until these items have been cleared.
When can I use MyInfo to course select?
- Anyone may use MyInfo at any time to search through Rider’s database of credit courses to find the class(es) available in a specific term. Results are displayed in “real time”, showing the available seats in a particular section. No user name or password is required to use this function.
- For undergraduate Day students, on-line course selection is done by assignment, based upon the number of credits completed. Please refer to the current Course Selection Schedule on our website or in the printed copy of the day school Course Offerings to determine when you may course select in person or on-line.
- CCS students registering for evening or Weekend College courses may register at any time once the course selection period begins, regardless of number of credits passed. The earlier you register the better chance you have of getting the course(s) you want. CCS students registering for day courses must follow the day student registration schedule (based on number of credits completed) found in the current day school Course Offerings.
- All graduate students may register at any time during the course selection period.
Do I need to see my advisor before course selecting on line?
- Undergraduate Day students must be advised and “green-lighted” before they can create a schedule either on-line or in the Registrar’s office. However, as in the past, advisor consent is not needed to make schedule changes.
- CCS students in the following categories must meet with their CCS advisor prior to using MyInfo:
Trial students
Conditional students
High School students
New transfer degree-seeking students
New non-matriculated students
All other CCS students may course-select on-line without seeing an advisor - All graduate students may course select without seeing an advisor, except for WCC graduate students, Graduate Education Students enrolled in the Special Education program and non-matriculated "special" students enrolled in the School of Graduate Education. These students must meet with an advisor prior to course selection.
All currently active students have automatically been assigned a User Name and Password. Your User Name is your Rider e-mail account name without the “@rider.edu”; your Password is your Easypass password (the same one you use for Blackboard and email). You may also look up your User Name from the MyInfo main menu using the MyInfo for Guests link.
Are there any courses I cannot select via the Web?
Any courses or sections that require special permission or multiple signatures are not available for Web course selection. These include Permission of Program Director and Permission of Instructor courses, as well as Independent Studies, Internships, and Honors courses. To select any of these courses, you must contact the appropriate dean's office and complete a paper registration form. Also note that you must have completed the necessary prerequisites AND meet all restrictions for a course before the course may be added to your schedule.
I’m not sure how to use the on-line course selection system. Is there any help available?
There are step-by-step instructions available on the Registrar’s website (www.rider.edu/registrar). You may also contact us at myinfo@rider.edu.
