Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program
The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program is a federal TRIO Program, sponsored jointly by Rider University and the U.S. Department of Education. The program identifies academically talented underrepresented minority students and encourages and prepares them to pursue doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. Participants must have demonstrated academic ability in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). The program helps students gain admission to graduate school and then tracks their progress through to the successful completion of advanced degrees. The goal of the program is to increase the attainment of Ph.D. degrees by students from those segments of society that are underrepresented in STEM fields in graduate education, i.e., African Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans.
