MarineLab Instructors

Marline Lab

MarineLab instructors lead elementary through college age students on an intensive exploration of the seagrass, mangroves, and coral reef communities of Key Largo, Florida. Duties include setting up labs, teaching snorkeling skills, presenting lectures on ecology, operating 26-foot twin hull center-console boats to take students to snorkel sites, and supervising students in the water at field trip sites.

Requirements

BS or BA in marine science, marine biology, biology or related natural science; Open Water SCUBA certification; small boat (20-25 feet) handling experience; excellent communication skills; teaching experience. Candidates must like working with children in groups, grades 4 - 12; must like outdoors in subtropical sun and ocean environments; have an outgoing, enthusiastic personality and willing to work long hours (including evenings and weekends) during busy season.

Compensation

THIS IS A SALARIED POSITION WITH BENEFITS, including paid leave, health insurance, and ongoing training and education opportunities.
