Instructor, Respiratory Therapy

Brookdale Community College

The college invites applications for Instructor, Respiratory Therapy for September 2008. We seek colleagues who share our unequivocal commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, and student development, and who value diversity and service. This is a full time, tenure track position. The position is primarily based at the Lincroft campus however teaching assignments may include other locations in the county.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Baccalaureate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field is required (Master’s degree preferred). Candidates must hold or be eligible for a New Jersey license as a Respiratory Therapist and also hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) crediential. Four years of clinical experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist are also required. Formal teaching/training experience is preferred.

Instructor positions are entry level. Minimum qualifications include the College’s requirement that experience for entry level positions not exceed 3 years of full-time equivalent college teaching experience and/or 6 years of related work experience, as determined by the College. Experience is determined after the award date of the relevant Master’s degree.
Faculty members teaching extra courses or working additional hours during the academic year and in the summer receive additional compensation. Candidates invited for an in-person interview may be required to present a teaching demonstration. Enthusiasm, dedication to teaching, commitment to the use of new technologies in teaching, openness to new pedagogies and willingness to participate in departmental curriculum collaboration are essential.
Annual Salary Range for instructor level for September 2008 is S46,689-S53,692
