Position: Gifted and Talented Teacher - TCH-0742
Whitman Elementary School

Required Criteria:

• NJ Elementary Teacher Certification
• Highly qualified in the areas of Mathematics and Reading
• Understanding of NJ Core Curriculum Standards
• Knowledge of Everyday Math, Balanced Literacy, Social Studies and Science
• Knowledge of and experienced in teacher creative thinking skills used to encourage fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration
• Thorough understanding of the writing process
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction
• Knowledge of current research-based instructional strategies; technology as an instructional tool; and application of Higher Level Thinking Skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with others

Preferred Criteria:

• Course work in Gifted Education
• Experience with working with high achieving students

Salary: In accordance with the provisions of the Agreement between the Washington Township Board of Education and the Washington Township Education Association.
