Private, non-profit agency supporting mental health consumers through advocacy, educational and employment services and community education and training.

Description =  Educational Coach Mental Heath Association in Southwestern New Jersey   Skill Set and Requirements  This position requires a BA degree in education, psychology, social work or a related field. An Educational Coach should have knowledge and experience working on a college campus or other post-secondary setting. Person-centered helping skills are essential, as is the ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently.  Job Description  The Educational Coaches report directly to the Program Director. Educational Coaches are mainly responsible for providing direct services to program participants. The duties of the Educational Coach include, but are not limited to:  • Maintains a caseload of clients as determined by the Program Director • Schedules appointments with clients to provide services • Provides individualized, mobile  SED services to clients  • Maintains accurate, timely case files • Networks with partners in secondary schools, pos!
 t-secondary schools, mental health programs and supported employment programs • Assists in making presentations to schools and agencies  • Performs other duties as determined by the Program Director • Maintains ongoing contact with clients to track educational outcomes  Specific Program Services   • Educational and vocational exploration • Educational Assessment • Educational goal setting • Completing college and vocational trade school applications • Completing financial aid applications • Assistance in securing grants and scholarships • Assistance in selecting classes • Meeting with academic advisors  • Identifying barriers and developing strategies to overcome them • Campus tours • Linkage to the Office of Students with Disabilities Services, or relevant university/college programs • Assistance in securing reasonable accommodations 

Qualifications = Job Announcement - Educational Coach   The Mental Health Association in Southwestern New Jersey has begun providing services in a Supported Education program. The program serves individuals with serious and persistent mental illnesses in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties. The Supported Education program is currently seeking two full time staff to assist clients in pursuing their higher educational goals. Candidates should have a BA degree in psychology, social work or related field and valid NJ driver’s license.  Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation and the college environment is essential. The educational coach position offers a competitive salary and benefits.
