U.S. Border Patrol Agents have the initial earning potential of $36,658 to $46,542 within the first year of employment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. In addition, U.S. Border Patrol Agents are eligible to earn above $70,000 a year after successful completion of a two-year trial period under the Federal Career Intern Program,

The basic requirements to become a U.S. Border Patrol Agent are:
• Be a U.S. Citizen
• Have a valid state driver’s license
• Between the ages of 18-39
• Be physically fit
• Pass a background investigation, drug test, medical and fitness examinations
• Willingness to relocate to the Southwest border (Texas, Arizona. New Mexico, or California)
