FAQs
Q. What would I talk about with a counselor?
A. You may talk about anything at all that concerns you. As a college student, you may have:
- Personal concerns
- Academic concerns
- Sexual concerns
- Drug/alcohol concerns
- Relationship concerns
- Roommate concerns
- Family concerns
- Eating disorder concerns
- Anxiety concerns
- Stress concerns
Q. Do my parents or professors or anyone else on campus have to know if I see a counselor?
A. Absolutely not. The counseling relationship is strictly confidential. No information about you will be released to anyone without your written permission. If there should be a concern that you may be in danger of harming yourself or others, confidentiality may have to be broken to protect you.
Q. What if I feel that I just need someone to talk to?
A. That's fine with us. Feel free to call and make an appointment, we'll be happy to see you!
Q. What if I don’t really know what my problem is, but feel that something is just not right? Is counseling right for me?
A. Definitely. You and your counselor will work together to clarify, uncover and "sort out" what might be troubling you.
Q. What are the hours at the Counseling Center at Lawrenceville?
A. The normal hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
