FITNESS PROGRAMS FALL 2009

Fall Back Into Shape

  • What are the teams? How many people can we have?
    Teams will be made up of 3-4 students, completely of their choosing.
  • How will you be ranking the teams?
    The competition will measure team % weight loss from original starting weight. Everyone will weigh themselves every Thursday, and record their weight on file. Then our professionals will take that data and plug it into our excel spreadsheets, add a few formulas, and BAM! we have our team % weight loss.
  • How else can we measure our fitness success? There is more to being fit than just losing weight!
    Students will also set personal goals. This can be something as simple as "go to the gym once a week," or as elaborate as "Run the mile in 6 minutes." Either way, it's up to you to meet them!
  • I don't want anyone seeing my weight. That's very personal information.
    FEAR NOT! No one will! Weigh-ins and weight reporting will be strictly confidential, so there's no need to avoid the scale! This program is very user friendly. Remember, we're counting total team percentage weight loss, thats it.
  • How do I become part of this new and exciting program?
    All you have to do to sign up is come to the SRC front desk, and express your interest in the program. The helpful fitness staff will take care of the rest.


Run to Spring Break

Enter the 4 week challenge to get in shape for Spring Break
Win Prizes for working out!!!

  • What's the Goal?
    To complete 48 miles over a 4 week period; the distance from Rider to Belmar Beach.
  • What's the Criteria?
    Run or walk the entire 48 miles or break it down using cardio machines. Each participant must walk/run 16 miles or more. The maximum miles for the bike is 16 miles, the maximum miles per cardio machine is 16 miles. Group Exercise classes will count toward miles also!
  • How do I get my prizes?
    Prizes will be awarded to participants that have completed 12 miles that week. You'll recieve an e-mail letting you know when your prizes are ready to be picked up.
  • How do I track my Progress?
    Scorecards will be kept in the SRC by the fitness station.
  • Where can I sign up?
    Sign up at the Ticket Booth!!!
