Clubs and Organizations

Steps required to become a recognized club at Rider University.                                                                           

 Recognized clubs may receive a budget, reserve rooms, and have Rider University in their club name.

1. Obtain the Club Recognition Packet in the Student Affairs Suite
2. Develop a Constitution
3. Obtain a Faculty/Staff advisor who will be active with your club
4. Recruit a minimum of eight members and appoint/elect club officers
5. Develop a list of facts about your club to inform the Clubs/Organizations chair and Senate what your club is about
6. Turn in your paperwork including your constitution, list of members (including officer positions), and your list of facts
7. Meet with/work with the Clubs/Orgs Chair to develop your constitution and facts sheet
8. Schedule a date to present with senate
9. Present your club to senate – dress should be business casual, be prepared to answer all questions about your club, and as many members as possible should attend along with your advisor
10. Once approved the Clubs and Orgs Chair will help you set up a mailbox in the Student Affairs Suite
11. Fill out an allocation of funds form to present to Finance Board through Mike Zilly Finance Board Chair ( zilly@rider.edu )
12. Attend Transition Day at the end of the spring semester

All clubs and organizations at Rider are responsible for the following:


• Attending Awareness day and related meetings
• Attending Transition day and related meetings
• Maintaining a reasonable membership to achieve your mission
• Organizing and creating programs that are a benefit to the university and are congruent with your mission
• Maintaining a current constitution with the SGA Clubs and Orgs Chair and the Campus of Campus Life
• Having a minimum of three meeting per semester
• Having your advisor attend at least one meeting per semester
• Holding yearly ELECTIONS at least one week prior to Transition day
• Checking their Mailbox in the Student Affairs Suite
