Harrison Does Not Seek Reappointment as Head Coach at Rider University
LAWRENCEVILLE—Tori Harrison, Rider University’s Head Coach for Women’s Basketball, has chosen not to seek reappointment effective April 1. “We wish Tori well in her future endeavors,” said Don Harnum, Rider’s Director of Athletics.
Harrison was hired as head coach in May 2004. In her first season, Harrison led the Broncs to their winningest season since 1999-00, compiling the most MAAC wins since 2001-02 and helped the team win its first MAAC tournament game since 2000-01. She completed her third season with a 14-73 record. Rider finished the 2006-07 season tenth in the MAAC with a 2-28 record.
Harrison came to Rider from George Washington University, where as an assistant coach she helped win the Atlantic-10 Title in 2003 and take part in four NCAA tournaments. She also served as assistant coach at the University of Minnesota and Clemson University. As a player, she twice led Louisiana Tech University to the Women’s Basketball Final Four.
A search for Harrison’s successor will begin immediately. “We will conduct a comprehensive search right away as we seek to strengthen the women’s basketball program at Rider over the next several years,” said Harnum.
