Broncs Bring on the Best

LAWRENCEVILLE—The Rider University baseball team has to date played the seventh toughest schedule in Division I, according to boydsworld.com.

“We felt the competition was as good as any from week to week as we have played in the last three years,” said Rider head coach Barry Davis. “It can only help our team move forward. To be the best, you have to play quality competition.”

Rider (2-10) has defeated Washington State and East Tennessee State, and has also played three-game series’ with Virginia Military Institute and Gonzaga.

“The website boydsworld.com is the baseball equivalent of what the Sagarin Rankings are for basketball,” Davis said, “based on RPI.”

Updated March 19, the top 10 include Long Beach State, Eastern Michigan, USC, UCLA, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Cal State Fullerton, Rider, Stanford, Minnesota and Penn State.

Rider hosts Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference preseason favorite LeMoyne in a three-game series this weekend.
