Rider 11th of 12 at Lonnie Barton

BLUFFTON, SC-The Broncs competed at the third annual Lonnie Barton Memorial tournament Monday and Tuesday. Rider shot a 325 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 662 after a 337 on Monday to place 11th.

Sophomore Eric LeFante (Colts Neck) shot a team-best 148 (76/72) to tie for fourth overall among the 60 golfers. “I felt pretty good today,” said LeFante. “I was able to keep my mistakes to a minimum. I still feel I could have done better. I left a few out there today, but overall I was pleased. There were many positives to take away from this.”

Freshman Kevin Krecicki (Hamilton/Nottingham) played as an individual and shot a 162 (80/82), but his score did not count in the Rider team score.

Freshman Bradley Yocum (Brodheadville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) had a 169 (83/86) to place 46th overall.

Senior Matt Ringen (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock) shot a 172 (88/84)

Senior Jeff Palmer (Bensalem, PA) shot a 173 (90/83).

Rider junior Tyler Brewington (Orangeville, PA/Benton), Rider’s top golfer in the fall, was forced to withdraw due to a sprained ankle suffered last week.

The Broncs take to the links again March 31 at the Lacrosse Homes Collegiate Invitational, held at the Prospect Bay CC in Grasonville, Md.
