Rider’s Fenlator Honored by MAAC

LAWRENCEVILLE—Jazmine Fenlator, a senior on the Rider University indoor track & field team, was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Performer of the Week for all competition January 30-February 5.  "From where we have come six years ago when I started at Rider to where we are now is like night and day," said head coach Rob Pasquariello.  "And Jazmine has been a key part of the success that we have been able to accomplish."

At the New Balance Invitational in New York City Fenlator (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) placed eighth in the shot put with a Rider record toss of 48’6.25” and also placed seventh in the weight throw (57’00.25”).

"It was very gratifying for Jazmine to go back where she had a disappointing performance last year and accomplish what she did," Pasquariello said.  "And with the effort that last year's class and this year's class has put forth, we are starting to receive some conference wide recognition and that's been really positive for our program and Rider University overall."

There were only three women who made the finals in both the shot put and weight throw and the other two were returning All-Americans.

In the shot put Fenlator was competing against four of the top 10 throwers in the country. The top mark at the Invitational was the top throw in the country this year.

Rider hosts a meet at the NYC Armory February 9.
