January 5, 2006 - MAAC TV Schedule opens with Rider on ESPNU

Rider Kicks off MAAC Television Schedule on ESPNU Friday January 5, 2007

Edison, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will kick off its 2007 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule on Friday, January 5, with Rider University taking on Marist College at the McCann Center at 7:00 p.m., live on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.

Rider stands at 8-5 overall. The Broncs are led by junior forward Jason Thompson, who is averaging 18.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Senior guard Terrance Mouton is contributing 13.5 points and 4.2 assists an outing for Rider.

Marist is now 10-4 overall. The Red Foxes are led by senior guard Jared Jordan, the 2006-07 MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, who averaging 18.8 points and a nation-best 8.2 assists per game. Senior guard/forward Will Whittington is registering 17.1 points while shooting 44.0 percent from three-point range.

Both teams are 2-1 in MAAC play this season. Last year, Marist won both meetings between the two schools, first with an 89-66 win over Rider at Alumni Gymnasium on January 15. The Red Foxes then earned a 73-62 win over Rider at the McCann Center on February 8.
